Fleet Strike

Fleet Strike

Hunt down a hidden enemy fleet in this classic naval grid duel. Drag your five ships into position, then call your shots against a computer admiral on three skill levels, or pass the device to a friend. Watch every splash, fire and sinking, build hit streaks, climb from Deckhand to Admiral and unlock new hull colors.

How to play Fleet Strike

  1. Place your five ships on the grid. Drag them to move them, tap a ship to rotate it, or press Shuffle for a random layout. Ships cannot overlap or leave the grid.
  2. Press Battle. On your turn, tap a square on the enemy waters to fire. A splash means a miss, flames mean a hit.
  3. Keep track of your hits. When every square of a ship has been hit it sinks and is revealed on the board.
  4. The computer fires back at your fleet after every shot of yours. Sink all five enemy ships (Carrier, Battleship, Cruiser, Submarine and Destroyer) before it sinks yours to win.

Tips and strategy

  • Fire in a checkerboard pattern at first. Every ship covers at least two squares, so you do not need to shoot every cell to find one.
  • After a hit, test the four squares around it. Once two hits line up, keep firing along that line in both directions until the ship sinks.
  • Hide your fleet well: spread the ships out and keep a couple of them next to the edge, because players love to start in the middle.
  • Use the Enemy fleet list to see which ships are still afloat. If only the Destroyer is left, you can skip the gaps that are too small for the bigger ships.
  • On Hard the computer works out the most likely squares from its misses, so avoid obvious layouts and change your placement between games.
  • Chain hits to build a streak. Your best streak, win streak, rank and hull colors are tracked in the Stats screen.

Fleet Strike FAQ

Can I play against a friend on one device?

Yes. Choose 2 Players. Each player places a fleet in secret, and the game shows a cover screen between turns so nobody sees the other's board.

How do the three difficulty levels differ?

Easy fires at random. Normal hunts in a pattern and finishes every ship it finds. Hard calculates which squares are most likely to hold a ship and rarely wastes a shot.

Is Fleet Strike free?

Yes. It is free to play in your browser on Popyca, with nothing to download or install and no account needed.

Can I play Fleet Strike on my phone?

Yes. It works on phones, tablets and computers. Tap Play to open it full screen; you can hold your phone upright or sideways.

Does Fleet Strike save my progress?

Yes, automatically in this browser. It keeps your wins and losses per level, best hit streak, best win streak, fewest shots, best scores, rank and chosen hull color. Sign in with Google on Popyca to keep your progress in your account and continue on another device.
