Domino Den

Domino Den

Take a seat at the Domino Den and play classic double-six dominoes against 1 to 3 computer players. Choose Draw, Block or All Fives scoring, race to 100 points and unlock new tile sets as you climb the ranks.

How to play Domino Den

  1. On the title screen pick a game (Draw, Block or All Fives), 1 to 3 opponents and a level, then press Play.
  2. The holder of the highest double opens the first round; later, the winner of the previous round leads any tile. Tap a tile to pick it: tiles that cannot be played are dimmed.
  3. Tap a glowing end of the line, or drag the tile onto it, to place it. One half must match the open end. In All Fives the glowing end shows the points you would score.
  4. If nothing fits, tiles are drawn for you from the pile in Draw and All Fives. Block has no pile, so you pass.
  5. A round ends when someone plays their last tile or nobody can move. The winner scores the pips left in the other hands. The first to reach 100 points wins the match.

Tips and strategy

  • Track the numbers on the table: if many tiles of one number are out, leaving it open is safe.
  • Play heavy tiles and doubles early. They are hard to place later and cost the most pips.
  • In All Fives, look for ends that add up to 5, 10, 15 or 20. A double at an end counts both halves.
  • In Block, try to close numbers you hold many of. If the game locks, the lowest hand wins.
  • Hard computer players remember which numbers you could not match, so do not show the same weakness twice.

Domino Den FAQ

How does scoring work in All Fives?

After each tile you play, the two open ends are added up. A multiple of 5 scores that many points at once. The round winner also scores the other hands, rounded to the nearest 5.

What is a blocked game?

When the pile is empty and nobody can play, the lowest hand wins the round and scores the difference. A tie scores nothing.

Is Domino Den free?

Yes. It is free to play in your browser on Popyca, with nothing to download or install and no account needed.

Can I play Domino Den on my phone?

Yes. It works on phones, tablets and computers. Tap Play to open it full screen; you can hold your phone upright or sideways.

Does Domino Den save my progress?
