Gridiron Glory: Retro Football

Coach and quarterback your own pixel football team through a full season. Call plays from the card playbook, pull back to sling lobs and bullets to your receivers, then juke, spin and dive past tacklers for the touchdown. Kick field goals in rain, snow and wind, draft rookies, upgrade your stars, keep the locker room happy and win the Glory Final.

How to play Gridiron Glory

  1. Before every snap, tap a play card; it shows your receivers' routes. On 4th down you can also pick Field goal or Punt.
  2. On pass plays, press anywhere and drag back like a slingshot. The dotted arc shows where the ball will land; let go to throw. The LOB / BULLET button switches between a high lob and a fast, flat bullet.
  3. After the catch, drag to steer your runner. Swipe sideways to juke, swipe back to spin and swipe forward to dive for extra yards.
  4. For extra points and field goals, swipe up when the needle is in the green. Angle your swipe into the wind.

Tips and strategy

  • Throw a bullet to a receiver who is open right now; throw a lob over the top when a defender is trailing him deep.
  • Lead your receiver: aim where he is running, not where he is standing. The ring around a player shows who will go for the ball.
  • Watch for the red ring around your quarterback. It means a rusher is free, so get the ball out before the sack.
  • Save your juke for the moment a tackler is about to reach you. Juking too early lets him recover.
  • Spend coaching points on your quarterback and kicker first: a stronger arm throws farther and a better kicker gets a wider green zone.

How long is one game?

A game has four 4-minute quarters and takes about 3 to 5 minutes. After an 8-week season, the top 4 teams play the semifinals and the Glory Final.

How do I make my team better?

Every game earns coaching points. Use them on the Team screen to add stars to your players, and pick a rookie on Draft day to replace a weaker starter.

Is Gridiron Glory free?

Can I play Gridiron Glory on my phone?
