101 Okey

The Turkish classic 101 Okey on a polished wooden rack: open with runs and groups worth 101 points or five pairs, add tiles to every meld on the table and be the first to lay everything down. Three AI rivals on Easy, Normal or Hard, folded or classic scoring over 5, 9 or 11 hands, and a seven-table league with coins, racks and tables to unlock. Play online too: quick tables with other players, or a friend room by code, with bots filling any empty seats.

How to play 101 Okey

  1. Everyone gets 21 of the 106 Okey tiles; the starting player gets 22 and throws first.
  2. The face-up indicator sets the okey: the same colour, one number higher. The okey (gold star) is wild, and false jokers stand in for it.
  3. On your turn draw from the pile, or take your left neighbour's tile if you put it on the table that turn. Then throw one tile to your right.
  4. Open with runs and groups worth 101 points or more, or five pairs: line them up in your rack (Runs and Pairs sort them) and tap Open.
  5. From your next turn add tiles to any meld on the table. Throw your last tile to finish.

Tips and strategy

  • High runs open fastest: 11-12-13 alone is worth 36; in 12-13-1 the 1 counts 14.
  • Never throw the okey, or a tile that fits a table meld once you have opened: each costs 101 points.
  • Pairs get you out of the 202 penalty for an unopened hand, but what is left in your rack then counts double.
  • Watch the pile counter: when it runs low, lay down all you can.

101 Okey FAQ

How does scoring work in 101 Okey?

Points are penalties: after 5, 9 or 11 hands the lowest total wins. The finisher scores -101, opened players add up their leftover tiles and unopened players write 202. Finishing with an okey, with pairs or in one go from the hand doubles the hand.

What is folded (katlamalı) scoring?

Each new opening must beat the best one so far in that hand, such as 112 after 111 or six pairs after five, and the doubles stack. Classic tables always open at 101 or five pairs.

Is 101 Okey free?
