    Type Rush

    Find out how fast you really type: take a 15, 30 or 60 second typing test with live WPM, accuracy and a letter-by-letter highlight, then see your results card with a speed chart and the keys you missed. Defend your space base in Arcade by typing the words that fly at it, with combos, power-ups and boss ships, or learn touch typing in 14 lessons with an on-screen keyboard that shows the next key and finger. Real word lists in 12 languages, including Turkish Q and Japanese romaji.

    How to play Type Rush

    1. Open Typing Test, pick 15 s, 30 s or 60 s and start typing. The timer starts with your first key.
    2. Type the highlighted letters. A wrong key flashes red until you press the right one.
    3. The results card shows your WPM, accuracy, a speed chart and the keys you missed most.
    4. In Arcade, type the word under a ship to shoot it down before it reaches your base. Every fifth wave brings a boss.
    5. In Lessons, follow the glowing key and the lit finger on the on-screen keyboard.

    Tips and strategy

    • Keep your eyes on the text, not on your hands. Accuracy first: speed follows.
    • Rest your index fingers on F and J. The small bumps on those keys help you find home row without looking.
    • In Arcade, ships with a glowing orb carry a power-up: Freeze, Nova, Shield or Double points.
    • A long run without mistakes raises your multiplier up to x5.
    • No accented keys on your keyboard? Turn on Easy accents in the language menu.

    Type Rush FAQ

    How is WPM calculated?

    WPM means words per minute. Type Rush counts five correctly typed characters, spaces included, as one word, and divides by the time. Mistakes do not add to your speed but lower your accuracy.

    Can I take the typing test in Turkish or Japanese?

    Yes. Pick any of 12 languages in the language menu. Turkish uses the Turkish letters, and Japanese shows hiragana words that you type in romaji, for example しゃ as sha and ん as nn.

    Is Type Rush free?

    Yes. It is free to play in your browser on Popyca, with nothing to download or install and no account needed.

    Can I play Type Rush on my phone?

    Yes. It works on phones, tablets and computers. Tap Play to open it full screen; you can hold your phone upright or sideways.

    Does Type Rush save my progress?

    Yes, automatically in this browser. It keeps your best WPM for every test length and language, your Arcade high score, lesson stars and Daily Challenge streak. Sign in with Google on Popyca to keep your progress in your account and continue on another device.
