    Word Hunt

    Hunt for hidden words in a bright letter grid: drag across the letters in any of eight directions and watch each word light up in its own colour. Work through 40 themed packs, from animals and food to space and fairy tales, as the grids grow from 6x6 to 10x10, solve the Daily puzzle everyone shares, or race the clock in Time Rush. Every language has its own word lists and alphabet, and stars unlock new board styles.

    How to play Word Hunt

    1. Press Play to start the next puzzle, or open Packs to pick a theme such as Animals, Food or Space.
    2. Every word in the list is hidden somewhere in the grid.
    3. Drag in a straight line from the first letter of a word to the last, or tap the first letter and then the last. Words run across, down, diagonally and, in later levels, backwards.
    4. Each word you find gets its own colour and is crossed off the list. Find them all to clear the puzzle and earn up to three stars.

    Tips and strategy

    • Scan for rare letters first: a Z, Q, X or J usually appears only once or twice on the board.
    • Long words are easier to spot than short ones.
    • For three stars, finish without hints and within the par time of about 14 seconds per word.
    • A hint rings the first letter of a word; a second hint on the same puzzle outlines the whole word.
    • In Time Rush every word adds seconds and a cleared grid adds eight more.
    • Completing a pack gives two free hints and the Daily puzzle gives one.

    Word Hunt FAQ

    Is the Daily puzzle the same for everyone?

    Yes. Each day has one Daily puzzle per language, with the same grid and words for everyone. Solving it on consecutive days builds your streak.

    Which languages and alphabets are supported?

    Each of the 12 site languages has its own word lists and alphabet: Turkish with Ç, Ğ, İ, I, Ö, Ş and Ü, Polish and German letters, French, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian accents, Russian Cyrillic and Japanese kana grids.

    Is Word Hunt free?

    Yes. It is free to play in your browser on Popyca, with nothing to download or install and no account needed.

    Can I play Word Hunt on my phone?

    Yes. It works on phones, tablets and computers. Tap Play to open it full screen; you can hold your phone upright or sideways.

    Does Word Hunt save my progress?

    Yes, automatically in this browser. It keeps your stars for all 120 puzzles, your best times, hints, Daily streak, Time Rush best score and chosen board style. Sign in with Google on Popyca to keep your progress in your account and continue on another device.
