Screw Out

Screw Out

Unscrew the plates in the right order! Tap a screw that nothing covers and send it to the box of its colour. Spare screws wait in a five-slot tray. 40 levels from a simple workbench to a stack of 14 plates, with a daily puzzle, stars and hints.

How to play Screw Out

  1. Look at the plates stacked on the workbench. Every plate is held by two or three coloured screws.
  2. Tap a screw that no other plate covers. It spins out and flies away.
  3. If an open box at the top has the same colour, the screw drops into it. Three screws fill a box.
  4. If no open box matches, the screw waits in the tray. The tray only has five slots.
  5. When a box is full it leaves and the next box in the queue opens. Waiting screws of its colour jump in at once.
  6. A plate falls when its last screw is gone, which uncovers the screws underneath. Empty the board to win.

Tips and strategy

  • Check which colour the open boxes want before you tap. Matching screws never touch the tray.
  • Free the screws that hold big plates on top first. They uncover the most screws underneath.
  • A plate with a single screw left starts to swing. That is a good moment to remove its last screw.
  • Keep at least one tray slot free for emergencies. A full tray ends the level unless a screw still fits a box.
  • The small queue of coloured chips shows the next boxes, so you can plan the order of the screws.

Screw Out FAQ

Can a level be impossible?

No. Every level is solved by a computer first. You can still get stuck by filling the tray, so use Undo or Hint when it gets tight.

How do I earn three stars?

Finish without ever holding more than three screws in the tray at once, and without using a hint.

Is Screw Out free?
