Bolt Bench

Bolt Bench is a clever nut-sorting puzzle set in a workshop. Lift shiny colored nuts off one bolt, spin them down onto another and cap every bolt once it holds a single color. Play 240 levels that grow from two colors to towering stacks with hidden nuts, with undo, hints, a spare bolt and a fresh daily level.

How to play Bolt Bench

  1. Tap a bolt to lift its top nut. Several nuts of the same color on top come up together.
  2. Tap another bolt to screw them on. They fit on an empty bolt, or on a bolt whose top nut has the same color, if there is room.
  3. Tap the lifted bolt again to put the nuts back.
  4. Dark nuts marked with a question mark hide their color until the nuts above them are gone.
  5. When a bolt holds every nut of one color, it gets a shiny cap and locks. Cap all the bolts to clear the level.
  6. Use fewer moves to earn up to three stars.

Tips and strategy

  • Free an empty bolt early. Any nut can go there, so it is the most valuable spot on the bench.
  • Before lifting a nut, look at what is underneath it. Uncovering a matching color is usually a good move.
  • Work on hidden nuts first. A revealed color is information, and good plans start with information.
  • Avoid burying a color you need soon under another one.
  • Undo has no limit, so test an idea and take it back if it goes nowhere.

How many levels does Bolt Bench have?

There are 240 levels, from two colors with short stacks up to twelve colors, tall stacks and hidden nuts. Every level is checked so it can be solved. A new daily level appears each day.

What do Hint and Add bolt do?

Hint shows which bolt to lift and where to drop it. Add bolt gives one extra empty bolt per level. Both use a small stock that refills as you clear levels.

Is Bolt Bench free?

Yes. It is free to play in your browser on Popyca, with nothing to download or install and no account needed.

Can I play Bolt Bench on my phone?
