Untangle Lines

A glowing web of dots and lines is hopelessly tangled. Drag the dots around until not a single line crosses another. 40 levels grow from five dots to a dense 24-dot knot, with a daily puzzle, stars and a smart hint.

How to play Untangle Lines

  1. Look at the tangled web of dots and lines. Red lines cross other lines, calm lines do not.
  2. Press and drag any dot to a new place. The lines attached to it follow your finger.
  3. Watch the red crossing markers disappear as you pull the web apart.
  4. A dot glows green when none of its lines cross anything.
  5. When the crossing counter reaches zero the whole web turns gold and the level is solved.
  6. Use Undo to put the last dot back and Hint to see a good new place for a troublesome dot.

Tips and strategy

  • Start with the dots that have the most red lines. Moving them usually frees many crossings at once.
  • Pull a dot with only one or two lines out to the edge, where it cannot get in the way.
  • Look for triangles. A triangle can never be untangled by itself, so build the rest of the web around it.
  • Spread the web out. Plenty of space between dots makes the remaining crossings easy to see.
  • Fewer moves earn more stars. Plan two or three dots ahead instead of nudging at random.

Does every level have a solution?

Yes. Every web is built from a flat drawing with no crossings and then scrambled, so a solution always exists.

How do I get three stars?

Solve the level in about as many moves as there are dots, without using a hint. Each hint lowers the result by one star.
