Expert is the strongest opponent in the game. The computer always plays the best move it finds, spends the longest thinking about each position and never makes a random mistake. If you win, you earned it.
Tap a piece to see its legal moves, then tap a destination or drag the piece. White moves first.
You get one undo and one hint per game, so treat them as a last resort.
Expect precise play. The computer thinks for up to about two and a half seconds a move and uses an opening book.
Win by checkmate. A draw by repetition or stalemate is a good result against this level.
Tips and strategy
Play simple, solid chess. Keep your pieces protected and avoid weakening your king.
Do not trade your good pieces for bad ones. Look for endgames where your king is more active.
Take your time. There is no clock against the computer, so use it to check every capture and check.
Warm up with Hard first if Expert feels like too big a step.

Is the Expert computer unbeatable?

What should I do after beating Expert?
Winning against an Expert opponent unlocks the Mastermind trophy. After that, try the career mode, a ladder of 12 rivals that ends with a top-rated grandmaster-strength opponent, or play a friend online.
