One suit is where almost everyone starts with Spider Solitaire. All 104 cards are spades, so any card can go on the next higher card and every run you build moves as a single unit. It is a relaxed game that still rewards planning.
Build descending runs on the ten columns. A 6 goes on any 7, and because every card is a spade, the whole run can be dragged together.
Turn face-down cards over first. A freshly revealed card gives you more options than a tidy pile does.
Deal a new row from the deck only when you are out of useful moves. Each deal puts ten more cards on the table, and every column needs a card before you can deal.
Finish a column from King down to Ace and the run flies off. Clear eight runs to win.
Tips and strategy
Empty a column early. An empty column is a free parking spot for a King and the start of a new run.
When two moves look equal, pick the one that uncovers a card in the column with the most face-down cards.
Undo is unlimited, so try a line of play and step back if it gets stuck.
Once one suit feels easy, move up to 2 Suits for the first real challenge.
Spider Solitaire 1 Suit FAQ
Is 1-suit Spider Solitaire always winnable?
Not every random deal can be won, but with a single suit most can with careful play. By default Popyca deals solver-checked winnable boards, so a stuck game is always something a better plan could have fixed.
How is the score worked out?
You start at 500 points, lose one per move and gain 100 for each finished run, so fewer moves means a higher score. The 1-suit game keeps its own best score and win streak, separate from 2 and 4 suits.
