    Classic Solitaire

    The classic card game, dealt beautifully: crisp hand-drawn cards, smooth drag and drop, unlimited undo and smart hints. Play Draw 1 or Draw 3 with standard or Vegas scoring, take on a winnable daily deal, and unlock new card backs and tables as you win.

    How to play Classic Solitaire

    1. Build the four foundations at the top from Ace to King, one suit each.
    2. In the seven tableau columns, stack cards in descending order with alternating colours, such as a black 6 on a red 7. You can move a whole face-up run at once.
    3. Only a King (or a run starting with a King) can go into an empty column.
    4. When you run out of moves, tap the deck to draw. Tap the empty deck to turn the waste back over. Win by moving all 52 cards to the foundations.

    Tips and strategy

    • Turn over hidden cards first. Moves that reveal a face-down card in the tableau are almost always worth more than moves from the deck.
    • Do not empty a column unless you have a King ready to move into it.
    • Hold back low cards from the foundations if you still need them to build tableau runs, such as a red 3 to take a black 2.
    • Draw 3 is harder because only every third card is playable. Switch on Winnable deals only in Options if you want every deal to be solvable.
    • Tap a card to send it to its best spot, or double tap to send it straight to a foundation.

    Classic Solitaire FAQ

    What is Vegas scoring?

    In Vegas scoring you start each deal at -52 and earn points for every card you move to a foundation, with a running bank across games. The deck can be gone through only once in Draw 1 and three times in Draw 3.

    Is every deal winnable?

    Not every random deal can be won, which is true of Klondike in general. The daily challenge is always checked to be winnable, and the Winnable deals only option gives you solver-checked deals in normal play too.

    Is Classic Solitaire free?

    Yes. It is free to play in your browser on Popyca, with nothing to download or install and no account needed.

    Can I play Classic Solitaire on my phone?

    Yes. It works on phones, tablets and computers. Tap Play to open it full screen; you can hold your phone upright or sideways.

    Does Classic Solitaire save my progress?

    Yes, automatically in this browser. It keeps your stats, level, unlocked card backs and tables, trophies, daily streak and the game in progress. Sign in with Google on Popyca to keep your progress in your account and continue on another device.
