2048

2048 6x6

The 6x6 board is the roomiest 2048 grid, with 36 cells. Reaching 2048 is rarely the problem here. The real game is how far past it you can go while keeping the board in order.

How to play 2048 6x6

  1. Swipe, or press the arrow keys or WASD, to slide every tile. Matching tiles merge into one.
  2. A new tile appears after every move. With 36 cells the board fills slowly, so a single bad swipe is rarely fatal.
  3. Reach the 2048 tile to win, then keep playing for 4096 and beyond. Your best tile is recorded for this board.
  4. You start with five undos, and milestone tiles add more up to a limit of eight.

Tips and strategy

  • Pick a corner for your largest tile and keep the row beside it full, so a sideways swipe never pulls it out.
  • Build one long descending chain along an edge, such as 512, 256, 128, 64. One merge can then roll all the way down the line.
  • Big boards invite long sessions. The game saves your unfinished 6x6 run, so you can come back to it.
  • Prefer something tighter? Try 5x5.

2048 6x6 FAQ

What is the point of a 6x6 board?

It turns 2048 into a relaxed game of tile management. The target is still 2048, but the extra space lets you chase much higher tiles and score.

How many undos do I get on 6x6?

You start with five and can hold up to eight. A bonus undo is earned each time you reach the 256, 512, 1024 and 2048 tiles.
